Good plan (if the kids aren't in school). I have to admit that I went to several stores this afternoon and half way across the parking lot I had to go back to the car for the bags but other than that they worked great!CJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915331094311375850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4470126441925344618.post-44134856582459657152008-04-22T21:50:00.000-04:002008-04-22T21:50:00.000-04:00What a wonderful resolution. I usually shop at stores that don't provide bags so it's an added incentive to me to remember those bags. If I don't I either have to pay for bags or juggle my purchases.Cinjhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09582157624382487302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4470126441925344618.post-24795853536686188942008-04-22T16:44:00.000-04:002008-04-22T16:44:00.000-04:00We've been using the canvas bags for about 2 years...We've been using the canvas bags for about 2 years now. Once you get the hang of remembering to use them, it becomes second nature. We love not having to take the plastic and paper bags back to the store for recycling. That, and it distinguishes us from the tourists! :-)Giddyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04810313282013706875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4470126441925344618.post-35779284001131612652008-04-22T15:43:00.000-04:002008-04-22T15:43:00.000-04:00CJ .. We've got a bag to use at the store but tend to forget to bring it. Some stores here in Nova Scotia have done away with plastic bags altogether (most notably, the NS Liquor Commission) -- they offer paper and cloth bags as an alternative. The NSLC alone will keep 10 million plastic bags out of landfills by this move. We bought several of the cloth bags our largest supermarket offers (some of their stores have gone plastic bag-less, too) for $1 each and actually prefer them for to the plastic ones.Nancy J.
