Garden Girl Diagnosed

Well, after nearly a month, 2 mis-diagnoses and about 150 partial seizures we have finally received a diagnosis regarding my daughter. She has Generalized Epilepsy. While medications are effective for some people in controlling seizures the doctors warn us it will be an uphill battle to find the right medication for her. However, we are hopeful and satisfied that we will be able to help her through this.

Thanks to all of you who have sent your prayers, best wishes, kindness and comfort to us during this troubling time. I really appreciate it.

I hope the road to finding the right medication is a short one! Give her a hug from your blogging friends!

Finding the right medication may be difficult, but sometimes, knowing what's wrong helps deal with things.

When the docs finally found a diagnosis for me (spinal stenosis) I was happy, even though the news wasn't great. It was just a relief to KNOW what was going on.

I am relieved to KNOW something but equally downhearted that this is going to be a lifelong challenge for her.

CJ .. I know this must come as a mixed reaction to it all. You have been under a lot of stress. Knowing what it is .. well that is the best part if there can be one .. pin pointing the right medication is the worst bit .. Hopefully garden girl will adjust to it all .. feel a bit better .. then you can feel a bit better too !
Best Wishes

I am holding Garden Girl up to heaven right now with a prayer that you will find the right medicine quickly, and that there won't be so many seizures. I hope the diagnosis at least takes away some of the fear. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.~~Dee
